Glossary

Glossaries are used to manage fixed translations for professional terms, brand terms, product names, names, and other words that should remain consistent.

Create a glossary

When creating a glossary, you usually need to fill in:

Each glossary corresponds to one original language.

  • Glossary name.
  • Original language.
  • Target language.
  • Original-language term.
  • Target-language translation.

Use a glossary

You can select a glossary before submitting a project. Subtitle translation will try to follow the term mappings in the selected glossary.

You can also apply a glossary in the editor. Applying a glossary in the editor does not trigger a full translation flow again. It searches existing translations for replaceable terms and replaces them according to the glossary.

Language matching rules

When selecting a glossary, only glossaries matching the current project original language are shown.

For example, a glossary with English as the original language and Chinese as the target language only appears in projects whose original language is English. It will not appear in projects whose original language is Chinese.
