Subtitle Transcription

Subtitle Transcription turns speech in video or audio into editable and exportable subtitle files. It is suitable for subtitle production, course organization, meeting notes, and podcast text cleanup.

Use cases

  • Generate timed subtitles for video or audio that does not have a subtitle file.
  • Turn courses, meetings, interviews, or podcasts into transcripts.
  • Continue translating based on original subtitles to generate translated subtitles or bilingual subtitles.

Steps

  1. Open Subtitle Transcription.
  2. Upload one video or audio file.
  3. Select the original language or keep auto-detect.
  4. Choose whether to continue with translation.
  5. Review the estimated credit cost and submit the project.
  6. Wait for system processing to complete.
  7. Open the editor to view and edit subtitles.
  8. Export subtitle files or transcripts.

Supported files

Video formats: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV.

Audio formats: mp3, wav, flac, m4a.

File limits: Free users can upload files up to 200 MB / 10 minutes. Subscribed users can upload files up to 500 MB / 60 minutes.

Default processing

Subtitle Transcription performs vocal separation by default to improve speech recognition accuracy. The main flow generates original subtitles with text and timing information.

Subtitle Transcription does not generate target-language subtitles, dubbing audio, or video results by default. If translation is needed, select continue translation during setup after uploading the file.

Background noise, overlapping speakers, strong accents, music, or low speech volume can affect transcription accuracy. Review transcription results in the editor before publishing or delivery.

Export formats

Subtitle Transcription supports SRT, ASS, and transcripts.

SRT and ASS support exporting original subtitles, translated subtitles, and bilingual subtitles. Whether translated or bilingual subtitles are shown depends on whether the project has generated corresponding translation results.
